Lost Northerner

Howard drives his partner Joseph to hospital to undergo a high risk operation and the intimacy of the car, alongside a long forgotten mix tape, sees the masculinity of their forty year relationship start to yield.
Written and directed by Thom Petty (Chaconne, Best Short Film Screenplay Amsterdam International Film Festival), TICKER focuses on a mature, gay couple living a contained life in rural Staffordshire as they face the jeopardy of ill health. It was shot on 16mm film with DOP Barbara van Schaik.
TICKER has screened at over 40 festivals on the international circuit including several BAFTA and Oscar qualifiers. It was broadcast on Film 4/All4.
